Last week the Jack4america campaign posted their full campaign platform. They had a total of five issues on their website; Education, Tax Reform, ACA, Environment and Foreign Policy. All of these were thoroughly fleshed out and a bit overwhelming for the average american trying to access this content to learn about Governor Jack.
Of these overwhelming arguments the most dramatically fleshed out is in Foreign policy, where instead of outlining general goals and aims, and giving importance to certain specific issues, the Jack campaign writes about every little possible foreign policy issue and goes on for paragraphs upon paragraphs from local disputes to international conflict.
Some other platform issues such as tax reform, however, are appropriately addressed and give a comprehensive explanation to constituents. This type of simple yet precise writing is generally helpful when trying to find out more about a campaign.
However good the Tax reform page was, one proceeds to be disappointed by the lack of thoroughness on the Healthcare section. Simply one paragraph to address one of if not the most important issues for most of modern day american politics. The campaign could use more specific strategies on how to individualize healthcare and address the change in the quality of healthcare in correlation to cost.
The education platform is… well it's definitely bold. Jacks campaign claims it will force colleges and universities to lower their tuition costs. They then promise to finance great increases in Federal subsidies and raise teachers salaries, but don’t explain how they will actually IMPROVE education.
Finally but definitely not least in this case is the Environment. Jack promises to go all out, heavily regulating and taxing all types of corporations from every industry, without addressing potential more realistic and moderate goals. More modesty and conservatism was expected from a moderate candidate.
