Governor Jack is the moderate democratic candidate for the 2020 election and as such his platform highlights a liberal agenda. Jack’s main goal is to ‘save the planet.’ He cites corporations as being an important part of the environmental crisis as they pollute both air and water ways. In order to achieve his goal, Jack has proposed strong regulations such as the implementation of a carbon tax which would tax corporations for each metric ton of carbon they expel. Furthermore, Jack aims to expand the affordable care act. The affordable care act is a piece of legislation, passed by former President Barack Obama, which aims to expand medicaid to the poor and reform the private insurance market. He will focus on recreating the individual mandate so that everybody is mandated to have healthcare. Candidate Jack will also lower the cost of healthcare so that everyone can afford it. His basic belief is that everyone has a right to proper health care regardless of employment or economic situation. The Governor’s goal for education is to give education opportunities to all.  In regards of taxation, Jack will work to impose higher taxation on the rich, again matching his liberal agenda. Increased revenue from these taxes would be funded back into the community to create programs to help with education, health care, and make other programs available to the whole population. Finally, respecting foreign affairs, Candidate Jack hopes to increase the United State’ diplomatic presence.
