And the Race Begins...

On the morning of December 4th, our three presidential candidates took their first steps into the election as they gave their speech announcing their candidacy and platform. Senator Ben highlighted the importance of addressing climate change by emphasizing that current government action has not been effective. He plans to repeal Obamacare and hopes to put to replace government subsidies to private companies to increase oxygen while keeping prices low. He is also equally passionate about altering the current tax reform. He supports a “flat, fair, and friendly income tax [since it] is essential to unshackle the American economy.” Governor Jack criticizes Republican leadership as, “time and time again, they increase a new burden on the poor, in order to increase the wealth of the upper class. Senator Bella pledges to increase taxes on the wealthy, reform public education, and make healthcare a right and not a privilege stating she will “work tirelessly to affirm the values of freedom and equality that this nation is built on.” Overall, the speeches from our three candidates are very strong. We are anticipating their upcoming actions as we dive deeper into the 2020 election.
