All three candidates seem to be focusing on the environment, but Jack and Bella seem to have environmental issues near the top of their list. Bella mainly focuses on moving the country away from non-renewable energy and nuclear energy. On the other hand, BBR focuses on giving subsidies to companies, who may in turn switch to renewable energy. He also cites examples from outside sources giving credibility to his stance after further review. Likewise, Jack also has a goal of providing subsidies to companies, but he uses them as a reward for companies using green energy, whereas Ben will give subsidies, and hopefully expect companies to switch. You may ask which promises more results? Well, our experts here at the Whitman Works believe that Jack’s option seems to be more effective, since it limits big corporations ability in finding loopholes to gain subsidies without switching to green energy. Jack also speaks on a unique feature that the other two candidates fail to, being a carbon footprint tax. This idea seems feasible, in respect to a potential decrease in carbon footprint since companies would be forced to pay potentially hefty fines. Jack however does have an image of himself on his environmental platform cropped over another image, putting into question the legitimacy of his platform. Finally, with respect to Bella’s stance on green energy, she believes that new jobs can be formed with a transition from non-renewable resources. Bella and Jack also hit on the topic of the EPA and give their full support to the agency in its efforts to combat climate change and protect the natural environment. Overall, all three candidates seem to be deeply concerned with the environment, which is a hot topic in the U.S. currently.
